Staff report The Eastern New Mexico University women’s basketball team has hired former post Jasmine Johnson as a graduate assistant. As a senior Johnson played 27 games for the Zias — since renamed the Greyhounds — last season, with six starts. She averaged 7.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

Roosevelt ousted in state Little League tourney

ALBUQUERQUE — The Roosevelt County 11-12 Little League all-stars dropped a pair of games over the weekend in double-elimination state competition, hosted by Albuquerque Roadrunner. Roosevelt County fell to Albuquerque Altamont 18-4 on Friday night before being ousted in a 16-1 loss at the hands of Roswell Lions Hondo on Saturday.
