Membership drive being held

KENW-TV’s Winterfest 2011 membership drive is Friday through Dec. 11.

Show your support to KENW-TV by volunteering your time to answer telephones for a few hours during this time. If you are interested in helping with the membership drive please call 562-2112 or email at rena.garrett@enmu.edu.

 

Scholarship applications sought

Applications for the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship are now being accepted.

This is a prestigious national scholarship that is open to sophomores and juniors in engineering, the natural sciences and mathematics.

This is a competitive scholarship which grants up to $7,500 (per year, based on need) to awardees for up to two years. The applicants must be U.S. citizens, natural or permanent resident. Additional information, application materials and specific awardee disciplines may be found at: www.act.org/goldwater.

Initial application deadline for institutional review is Dec. 12, completed application deadline at the Goldwater Foundation is Jan. 30.

 

Big Band Dance scheduled

The ENMU music department will be presenting a Big Band Dance from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. Saturday at the State Theater in Clovis, Fifth and Main. Admission is $5.

Chinese New Year Banquet set

The Chinese New Year Banquet — Flying Dragon is set for Feb. 3.

Chinese New Year is the most important festival in China, known as "Spring Festival.”

ENMU has a number of international students from China who would like to share their culture.

This year, the performances include: Chinese traditional folk dance, traditional instrument play, professional singing, chorus by American students and food.

The banquet is open to the public.

Tickets are $15 each, and must be reserved with payment by Jan. 27.
