Encanto Garden Club
Vice President Marcella Roy presided at the November meeting of Encanto Garden Club. Refreshments were served by Jane Rybolt as the business meeting began.
A lively discussion of feasible holiday projects followed. Encanto will sponsor Two Angels at Cannon Air Force Base in support of our local service men and women’s families. It was also decided to provide food for a year to a Western Box Turtle through the CARES program at Hillcrest Zoo.
The horticulture report centered around the care of Hibiscus plants being wintered indoors.
“Thank-you” kitchen supplies were presented to Mr. Muffley in appreciation of the use of his meeting room.
The annual Christmas Party Brunch is scheduled for Wed. Dec. 14 at the home of Jacque Wuest with each member brining a brunch dish and a wrapped gift.
The door prize of a live pumpkin, hollowed out and planted with pansies was won by Rybolt and the meeting was adjourned.
Claud Rainy Day Extension
The Claud Rainy Day Extension Club met Nov. 9 for Thanksgiving with fourteen present. President Ann Carter opened the meeting reading the Club Womens Collect.
Officers for 2012 were elected President Ann Carter, Vice-president Aloha Starbuck, Treasurer Joy Pattison and Secretary-Reporter Lucille Johnson. Callers appointed were Hildegunde Pulz and Hilda Rogers.
Thank you cards were sent to Barbara Winslow and Linda Roberts who helped Ginger Beck make 63 prayer shawls for residents in nursing homes. Members completed photo frames for residents and delivered them.
The Christmas meeting will be hosted by Joy Pattison on Dec. 11.
