ENMU supporting United Way

As of Nov. 10 ENMU faculty and staff have pledged $14,766 to community projects supported by United Way. ENMU was the flagship donor in Roosevelt County last year The university’s goal is $20,000.

 

POPS dinner concert scheduled

Eastern New Mexico University in Portales will host POPS Dinner Concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the Ballroom of the Campus Union Building. Admission is $30 per person, with advance ticket sales only. Tickets will be sold by mail.

The POPS evening features a gourmet dinner and vegetarian options are available upon prior request. Ticket orders must be received by today. For ticket information call 359-0145.

 

Annual Handbell Festival set

The 19th annual Eastern New Mexico Fall Handbell Festival concert will be 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 2nd and Ave. C. Sixty-five handbell ringers from New Mexico and west Texas will combine to ring music in holiday and other styles. Guest director will be Stephanie Wiltse from Grand Rapids, Mich. There will be several solos presented by individual choirs as well as solo ringer Elsie Couch from Levelland, Texas. Admission is free but an offering will be taken. The event is chaired by Dr. William Wood, professor emeritus of music and Jan Smartnick, retired KENW staff member.

 

ENMU hosting trumpet recital

Eastern will host a Duo Trumpet Recital at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Buchanan Hall of the Music Building. The event is free and open to the public. For information call 562-2377.
