I got to be in my very first flashmob Monday for Halloween and as nervous as I was before hand, I was surprised at how well it went. My group got compliments on our performance, which was one and a half minutes of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and we had a good time doing it.
Another fun acting event coming up on Oct. 11 is the murder mystery dinner, which will be performed at Vines Italian Restaurant at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 and are already available. Those interested in buying tickets can contact me by e-mail or call Vines at 356-4525.
Another fun thing being started in Portales in the next two weeks is the Coffee Depot in Portales will be displaying people’s artwork, needlework and more. Those interested in displaying their talents can contact owner Beth Shelton at 607-7831. Shelton said she would love to display any type of artwork, whether paint, graphic or needle and Eastern New Mexico University art students are also welcome, so give her a call and check it out.
Those with children should check out the Kids’ Fishing Clinic Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oasis State Park. The admission is two cans of food.
