Brandon Kelsey, Midwestern State, Sr., QB, Arlington, Texas —
Kelsey directed 12th-ranked MSU to a 70-28 rout of No. 9 Abilene Christian, completing 16-of-24 passes for 205 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for 114 yards. The Mustangs, off to the best start in program history, set a school record with 740 total yards, including 436 on the ground against a team which came in the fourth-best rushing defense in NCAA Division II.

Rushed for 63 yards on 11 carries in the Greyhounds’ 52-21 loss at West Texas A&M.
Defense
Romie Blaylock, Midwestern State, Sr., CB, Cedar Hill, Texas —
Blaylock had six tackles (five solos), including a sack of ACU quartrback Mitchell Gale. He also forced a fumble and had a pass breakup.

Made six tackles (five solos) and had a sack at WT.
Special teams
Paul Mason, Angelo State, Fr., PR/KR, Wichita Falls, Texas —
Mason returned one punt 70 yards for a touchdown and had another called back by penalty in the Rams’ 45-14 thumping of Texas A&M-Commerce. He had 104 yards on five punt returns for the game.
