‘Into the Woods’ production set

Eastern New Mexico University will host the musical “Into the Woods” 7 p.m. on Oct. 27-29, and 2 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Buchanan Hall of the Music Building.

Tickets go on sale today for $6.

Do Drop In, one of the show’s supporters, will be open following the show Thursday through Saturday so that patrons can meet the cast members.

The show is a retelling of several Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales. “Into the Woods” follows Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (of the Beanstalk), Cinderella and other familiar characters as they enter the woods in search of fulfillment of their various wishes.

Tickets can be reserved and/or purchased in the Department of Music office.

Jazz concert scheduled

Eastern New Mexico University will host a Jazz Ensemble/Combo Concert 7 p.m. Thursday in the Buchanan Hall of the Music Building.

The event is free and open to the public.

The show will consist of music from the Swing era, including Duke Ellington and Count Basie songs as well as several modern jazz and funk selections.
