Last weekend, I attended the balloon festival in Albuquerque for the first time. I’ve lived in New Mexico for more than 20 years and I have never been able to go. It was well worth it, even with my friends and I getting charged double for entrance, because we got a little confused about how to get in. Let me tell those of you going in future that you do not have to go through the museum to get to the festival. That’s an entirely separate charge.
Many members of the Portales City Council said the Cannon Appreciation Day was a big success and so was the trash cleanup event, Tas No Mas. Helpers at the clean up picked up 3,640 pounds of trash and seemed to have a lot of fun doing it. I was sorry to miss both events but my Albuquerque adventure was fun, along with exhausting.
There’s a lot of homecoming events going on this weekend at Eastern New Mexico University, including a parade, the football game, the Hollywood Hound Bound show and much more. Much of it is open to the public, so check the ENMU website for details and prices.
