On Friday April 16, 2010, deputies with the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant in the 700 Block of West 17th Lane. 

During execution of the search warrant Bonifacio “Bones” Rodriguez, 26, of Portales, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent to Distribute, a fourth degree felony, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a fourth degree felony, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Misdemeanor. 

A second male subject was also arrested identified as Jorge “Rascal” Castillo, 25, of Portales.  Mr. Castillo was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Misdemeanor. 

During the search warrant deputies learned that Mr. Castillo was out on a $10,000.00 bond and under conditions of release with the Roosevelt County District Court for two counts of Robbery stemming from an incident in 2009. 

Mr. Castillo was arrested on scene and was being held at the Roosevelt County Detention Center on a $1,500.00 cash only bond with ankle bracelet. 

In addition to the cash only bond Mr. Castillo was being held without bond due to violating conditions of release. 

Mr. Rodriguez was being held at the Roosevelt County Detention Center on a $50,000.00 cash only bond as well as a $6,500.00 cash surety bond.
