FFA students top event
The Floyd High School Agricultural Mechanics team placed first overall and garnered the top three individuals at the District FFA Career Development Event. Tait Nall placed first, Trice Gray second and Trevor Banister third. James Kratzer is the other AgMec Team member.
The Floyd High School Land Team placed fourth overall, with Chet Chenault second high individual. Other Land Team members are Tessa Nall, Lane Wallace and W.T. Whitecotton.
Varsity track results
On March 27, the Floyd High School track team participated in the varsity track meet in Hagerman. Results for Floyd participants were as follows:
• Javelin: Hunter Terry, fourth; Tori Tucker, first
• Shot: Chet Chenault, third; Tori Tucker, first
• 3,200-meter: Jose Mendoza, fourth; Tessa Nall, second
• 800-meter: Jose Mendoza, third; Tessa Nall, fifth
• 400-meter: Jose Luis, first
• 200-meter: Jose Luis, third
• 1,600-meter: Jose Mendoza, fourth; Tessa Nall, first
• 100-meter: Jose Luis, second; Chet Chenault, sixth
Tuesday
• 7:30 a.m. — Leadership team
• 2 p.m. — Track meet: Hagerman at Floyd (junior high).
• FFA — State Judging.
Wednesday
• FFA — State Judging.
Thursday
• FFA — State Judging.
• No school for preschool
• 8:30 a.m. to noon — Pre K Child Find.
• 6 p.m. — Floyd Senior Center potluck, games at 7 p.m.
Friday
• FFA — State Judging.
• No school Friday.
Saturday
• 8 a.m. — Floyd track meet: Fox/Vixen Qualifier (varsity).
• New Mexico cheer competition
Monday
• 7 p.m. — School board meeting.
• 6 p.m. — Cheer public performance, Floyd High School.
