Roadwork on two Portales projects is scheduled to begin this week.

The first project involves drainage improvements and additions of gutters, curbs and sidewalks on East First Street from Elgin Avenue to Knoxville Avenue, East Amazon Street from Elgin to Globe Avenue, and East Brazos Street from Elgin to Globe. It is scheduled to be completed in early June.

The second project is to put in landscaping and median improvements on the Roosevelt County Courthouse square perimeter, at the intersection of Boston Street and U.S. 70, and on two miles of U.S. 70 northeast of the courthouse. The work is scheduled to finish in early July.
