Five Cannon Air Force Base medics are being welcomed back from their humanitarian deployment on the USNS Comfort with a gathering at the base clinic 9:30 a.m. Monday.

The Airmen, assigned to the 27th Special Operations Medical Group, were deployed in a joint services environment on the USNS Comfort.

The primary mission of the Medical Treatment Facility (MEDTRE FAC) on the USNS Comfort is to provide acute medical and surgical care in support of all armed forces amphibious task forcesin areas where hostilities may be imminent, according to the USNS Comfort Web site.
