The 33rd Special Operations Squadron will be activated at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in a ceremony at Cannon Air Force Base.
The squadron will operate the MQ-9 Reapers Unmanned Aerial System, which is a medium altitude, multi-sensor platform that can locate, identify and destroy enemy positions.
Lt. Col. Michael Bruzzini will command the 27th Special Operation Wing’s newest squadron.
