DURANT, Okla. — Lunden Azuara had 16 kills and Southeastern Oklahoma cruised to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-14 Lone Star Conference volleyball victory over Eastern New Mexico University Thursday night.
The Savage Storm (19-11, 5-5 LSC) dominated the first and third games against the Zias, opening a 9-1 lead in both sets.
ENMU (6-25, 0-10) took an 8-5 lead in the second game on kills by sophomore Veronica Valdez and senior Vanessa Wilcox and a Southeastern attack error. The Savage Storm responded with a 9-0 run, capped by a kill from Jordan Parks, to take the lead for good.
Senior Nicole Vanderploeg’s ace and a combination block from Valdez and senior Megan Weitz pulled the Zias to 18-16, but the Savage Storm scored seven of the final eight points.
ENMU plays at East Central on Saturday, then closes its season at home next week against Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
