Rodeo competition
Elida High School students participated in two rodeo competitions recently. Sept. 6-7, the Santa Fe rodeo was held. Trent Bilberry placed ninth during the Saturday calf roping go-rounds and on Sunday he placed fourth. Kody Paiz wound up in eighth place on Sunday. At the Grants rodeo, held Sept. 13-14, Trent Bilberry took fifth on Saturday in the calf roping competition, while Kody Paiz placed second in calf roping on Sunday.
Trent Bilberry has been elected president of the New Mexico High School Rodeo Association.
Class activities
Elida Elementary School is participating in the St. Jude Math-a-ton. The event will run until October 20th. Elementary students will be collecting money and working math problems to support the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Over the years, our school has raised over $11,000 for this worthy cause. Any elementary student will be happy to take donations.
