• Five juveniles were arrested for the theft of a bank bag taken from a parked car. The bag contained a deposit of $1,708.14 in checks and $205.27 in cash. All of the checks were recovered and $80 of the cash was recovered after the arrest.
• Former Clovis residents Bill and Betty Smith purchased the Trainers Fruit Market, located at 600 South Avenue C.
• Fair weather pushed both the grain and peanut harvest into full gear. It was reported that three-fourths of the irrigated grain had been cut and dry land crops were just getting underway.
