The Ellen W. Jones chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy held its October meeting in Clovis. The group met at Furrs for lunch, then went to the home of G.C. Ross for the meeting. Robbie Wicker served as co-hostess and gave the invocation. Bess Jones and Jane Hilliard led the ritualistic opening. President Jan Ross called the meeting to order with regular business. The constitution revision was discussed. May Dell Daughrity gave the program on Southern music. She was assisted by Chesney Carter, who sang several songs. Refreshments were served by the hostess with a fall theme. The next meeting is Nov. 6.
