Roosevelt General Hospital Auxiliary The fall meeting of the Roosevelt General Hospital Auxiliary was Wednesday in the Community Room at Golden Acres. There were 47 members and guests attending. President Sid Phillips introduced the guests and conducted the program. The program was given by each officer and chairman of the various committees who explained the function, duties, and importance of that office. Various working hours award pins were given out and they will be recognized later. Wanda Martinez, treasurer, reported purchases for the hospital in 2007 included five rocker recliners, $1,478 for scholarships, $1,314 computer equipment for rehab, two cameras and a salad bar for $1,822, and a special handicap wheelchair for ER for $2,300.00. She reported the Auxiliary had given $20,000 to the hospital and Heartland in materials, scholarships, etc. since it opened. Mary Clotfelter, Lillie Faulkenberry, Pat Watson, and Pat Wood were given 20 year membership pins. Past presidents were recognized; they were Pat Watson, Eileen Loveall and Gaynelle Thomas. Special Awards Nursing Home Worker pins went to Joy Cox, Lee Shumate, Polly Luscombe, Billie Reagan, Mary Kay Kalin, Audrey Davis, and Jim Gordon. Genevieve Potts was given the Volunteer of the Year pin. The Star Performers awards pins were given to Wanda Grider and Linda Uttaro. The executive committee will meet Oct. 17. The holiday bake sale and white elephant sale will be in December.
