Pot luck is at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m. • There will be a fire meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday. • Lion’s club will meet March 8 in the Community Building. Lions sponsor essay contest The Floyd Lions Club is sponsoring an essay contest for students in grades 1-12. An instrument will be given away on each of the three nights of the 56th annual Floyd Jamboree that will be held March 23-25. All grade levels will have a chance. Thursday night will be for elementary students, Friday middle school, and Saturday high school. Prizes to be given away will be a stringed musical instrument, a couple of beginner lessons, and the opportunity to “jam” with other musicians throughout the year. Students who wish to participate must fill out an application and write an essay on why they should be picked for the giveaway, their musical interests, desires and ambitions. Applications are available at the Floyd School front desk. Essays and applications may be mailed to the Floyd Lions Club c/o Dave Nash, P.O. Box 51, Floyd, N.M. 88118 and postmarked by March 10. Floyd Jamboree coming up The 56th annual Floyd Jamboree will be nightly March 23-25 and the afternoon of March 26. Admission is $5 per person. An enchilada dinner will be served by the Floyd senior class on Friday night from 5:307:00 p.m. The Floyd booster club will also be sponsoring the concession stand each night and Sunday.
