City officials told the PNT at 6;45 p.m. Saturday that they hoped to have water restored to residents by 9 p.m. City manager Debi Lee said pumping operations had continued through the afternoon and shortly after 6 p.m. city crews had the pipe placed in the hole to be coupled. Lee said that once repair is complete city water department crews would begin turning the water on in zones so that the startup didn't place too much pressure on the water system.
