The Elida girls locked up the top seed in District 3-1A by beating second placed Fort Sumner 46-41. Kodi Armitage scored 17 and Jewlie Paiz added 15 for the Lady Tigers (19-2, 7-0). “It was a big win for us tonight,” Elida coach Dan Howard said. “It feels good to put that one down.” Lindsay Mansell paced Fort Sumner (12-11, 5-3) with 20 points. The Elida boys fell to the Foxes, who improved to 20-3 and a perfect 8-0 in the district. Elida fell to 9-13 and 0-6 in the district. Grady sweeps Floyd Grady’s Brian Blackburn scored 14 and Colt Grau added 12 and Grady defeated Floyd 46-34 in a non-district game in Floyd. Grady (14-11) opened up an eight point lead at the end of the first quarter and Floyd failed to close the gap. Floyd (12-12) was paced by Senior Kyle Kroft with 14 points. In the girls’ game, Heather Blackburn scored a game-high 18 points to lead Grady past Floyd 62-33. Grady improved to 15-8 on the year while Floyd fell to 13-11. Carley Dement lead Floyd with seven points.
