RICHARDSON, Texas — Senior forward Jamaal Hunnicutt for the men and sophomore guard Heather Brown for the women represented Eastern New Mexico University on the All-Lone Star Conference South Division basketball teams, released Monday by the league office. Hunnicutt, a four-year mainstay for the men’s team, earned first-team honors for the second consecutive year after being named to the second team as a sophomore. He started 87 of 110 games in his career, and was the only ENMU player to start every game this year. He was one of the LSC’s top players this year in a disappointing year for the Greyhounds (9-18, 2-10 South), who were coming off back-to-back South titles. Hunnicutt, from Amarillo, ranked third in the LSC in scoring (18.4), eighth in rebounding (8.3), 10th in field goal percentage (54.1) and 12th in free throw percentage (78.9). Brown helped pick up the slack when senior guard Laci Lee went down with a season-ending injury in December, forcing her to miss the team’s final 18 games. Brown, from Hereford, Texas, averaged a team-best 11.6 points for the yea. She started all 27 games for the Zias (13-14, 7-7 South), who ended the year in a tie for fourth in the division with Texas A&M-Commerce. An honorable mention selection as a freshman, she was third in the LSC in 3-point percentage (42.4 percent) and fifth in 3-pointers per game (1.96), and also had team highs of 85 assists and 46 steals. ENMU had two players earn honorable mention on the women’s side — junior forwards Tia Doss and Tiana Bryant. Bryant was second on the team in scoring with 10.5 points per game and averaged 5.1 rebounds per outing. Doss averaged 9.5 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 52 percent from the field.
