ENMU-Mines baseball twin bill rained out
Published: Saturday, February 12th, 2005
Saturday’s scheduled home opener for the Eastern New Mexico University baseball team against Colorado School of Mines at Greyhound Field was postponed due to rain.
ENMU coach Phil Clabaugh said everything was in shape to play until a brief rainshower hit around 10 a.m. on Saturday. Another shower followed that, leaving water standing on the infield.
The teams were scheduled to play two seven-inning games on Saturday and a nine-inning single contest today. Now the teams will try to get two sevens in today, starting at 1 p.m.
Clabaugh said the Hounds, who are 2-0 after winning twice in a rain-shortened three-game set at Sul Ross State last weekend, plan to go with junior right-hander Kelly Crain in today’s opener against Mines (3-1). Either Trevor Davis or Brett Scherer will work in the second game.
