Monday events
The Valentine party is Monday at 1:30 p.m. We will also have a cookie decorating contest. Bring your decorated cookie to school, and all the entries will be judged according to the best Valentine decorations.
Also on Monday, a representative from the extension office will be bringing eggs to the first- and second-grade classroom. The students will watch and care for these incubating eggs until they hatch, and each student has the opportunity to take home a baby chick.
No school
On Feb. 21, there will be no school and the office will be closed for President's Day.
Math update
Mr. Shawn Kelly teaches math to grades 5-10 and says they have all had great progress this year. The fifth-graders are working on equations while the sixth-graders are working with decimals and fractions. The junior high students are starting a unit on pre-algebra. The ninth-grade Algebra I students are working with factoring, and the 10th-grade Algebra II students just finished quadratic trinomials and are starting to work with factoring common polynomials.
