Homecoming games are scheduled for with junior varsity boys at 4 p.m., junior varsity girls at 5:30 p.m. and varsity boys at 7 p.m. The Conquerors will host Community Christian from Hereford. The varsity boys will host Lubbock Home School on Friday at 6 p.m. and the junior varsity girls will play Victory Christian from Carlsbad on Saturday at 2 p.m. Spelling bee The annual spelling bee will be held Feb. 11 at 8:30 a.m.There will be two categories of the bee, grades 3-5 and grades 6-8. First/Second grades The first and second grade classes are busy learning about many different things. In math, the first graders are counting money, combining dimes, nickels, and pennies, telling time to the half hour, measuring with rulers, learning the months of the year, and the concept of “half.” The second graders are learning temperature reference points, liquid measurements, place value, and adding four-digit numbers with carrying. For cursive writing, the first graders are reviewing all lower case letters while the second graders are copying paragraphs and scriptures as they can write all letters in cursive now.  Both classes are learning health, safety, and manners.
