The Conquerors (9-3) trailed 19-13 at the quarter, but held the Patriots (19-6) to just 16 points over the middle two stanzas in opening a 14-point cushion. Fort Sumner sweeps Dora — At Dora, visiting Fort Sumner took a pair of District 3-1A victories, including a 55-54 decision in the boys contest in which the Foxes rallied from a 17-point, first-quarter deficit. Fort Sumner (12-6, 2-1 district) trailed 20-3 after one period, but pulled close by outscoring the Coyotes 29-14 in the second stanza. Junior Jeremy Gauna scored 23 points for the Foxes, while Dora (5-14, 0-2) got 18 points from junior Tyler Wilhoit and 16 from junior J.R. Gonzales. The Coyotes stayed in the game by sinking 25-of-31 free throws, including 10-of-11 by Wilhoit and 7-of-8 by Gonzales.
