Remodeling continues at the Dora School. We can see progress every week and we long for the day it will began to take shape and we can visualize a little more clearly what it is going to look like when completed. Notice There is a School Board election coming soon in Dora on Feb. 1. Residents will also vote on a property tax to help on School property improvements. This is planned to take place in the Dora Fire Station. Those seeking positions on the Dora Board are: Scotty Watson, Kenneth Cox, Jana Roberts and Kenner Carrasco. Keep this date and these candidates in mind. Honors On Wednesday students who made all A’s or A’s or B’s for the 2nd nine weeks and first semester grading periods were honored at an all -school assembly in the auditorium. Parents were invited to the event to see our students receive their recognitions. The achievement certificates were presented by principal Barron to those receiving the A-B certificates. Those on the A honor roll received a certificate and also a decal for their family vehicle. All were congratulated for their fine accomplishments. Change in games The games for Jan. 22 in Dora were canceled but a game was added for Saturday, Jan. 29th at Dora starting at 4 p.m. This will be JH, JV and V girls teams only. They will play the teams from Roy. Week’s schedule Jan. 24: No school, but JHG and JHB play Ft. Sumner here at 4 p.m. Jan. 25: VG, VB and JVB play Ft. Sumner her 4 p.m. Jan. 26: NHS and NJHS meeting here Jan. 27: Student Council meeting: JHG and JHB play at Texico 4 p.m. Jan. 28: VG, VB, JVG play at Melrose at 4 p.m. Jan. 29: Regional BPA contest at Melrose Jan. 31: No school: JHG and JHB at Floyd at 5 p.m.
