ELIDA — The Elida Lady Tigers assured themselves of a berth in Class 1A regional competition next week with a 25-18, 25-18, 25-23 victory over Dora in the District 3-1A tournament semifinals Thursday night. Elida (16-5) plays at top-seeded Fort Sumner at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the winner of that match hosting the regional tournament next week. Lady Tigers coach Darrell Chenault said his team “probably played the best” match it has played this season. “Our outside hitters, Amber Griffin and Adrienne Coe, hit phenomenal tonight, and we served well too,” Chenault said. “I thought both teams played well.”
