Zias lose exhibition to Cochise

Cochise (Ariz.) Community College got two goals from Brandy Alexander and defeated Eastern New Mexico University 4-0 on Monday in an exhibition scrimmage played at the ENMU soccer field.
It was the second of three preseason contests for ENMU, which hosts the Lubbock Ice Under-19 club team at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The regular-season opener is Aug. 29 against College of the Southwest at Alamosa, Colo.
Alexander opened the scoring for Cochise by converting a pass from Kira Sharp in the fifth minute of play. The Lady Apaches took a 2-0 lead into halftime after Jessica Rosas found the net on an assist from Katie Punske in the 12th minute.
Roxanne Martinez and Alexander each added a goal off a rebound shot in the second half to complete the scoring.
The Lady Apaches outshot ENMU 11-4 overall, including an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal. Both teams earned four corner kicks.
Three ENMU players previously attended Cochise — sophomore defender Pat Campbell, junior defender Angelina Green and junior midfielder Nicole Johnson.
