Last time out: The Greyhounds won their seventh consecutive game, beating University of the Southwest 110-73 on Tuesday. Meantime, the Javelinas suffered a last-second, 77-76 loss at home to St. Mary’s on Monday after leading by double figures for much of the game.
Last year: The Hounds swept the season series, beating Kingsville 70-49 at home and 86-77 at Kingsville.
Of note: With a win, the Hounds would tie the program’s longest winning streak since 2003-04. … The Javs’ loss to St. Mary’s was their first at home this season in five games. … Robert Williams, a 6-foot-5 senior F, leads the Javelinas in scoring (17.7 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg), while also averaging in double figures are 5-10 junior G Ashton Brown (15.1) and 6-1 junior G Derryl Nash (10.4). … Brown, who scored 32 points in the loss to St. Mary’s, is 43-for-44 from the FT line (98 percent). As a team, the Javs are shooting 77 percent on FTs.

Last time out: The Zias dropped a 54-33 decision to New Mexico on Nov. 22 in Albuquerque. The Javelinas were routed 99-57 by Texas-Permian Basin on Saturday at Odessa, Texas.
Last year: The Hounds swept the season series, beating Kingsville 69-64 at home and 75-61 at Kingsville.
Of note: The Javelinas are giving up 82 ppg so far. … Leading scorers for the Javs are 5-8 senior G/F Amanda Haven (13.3 ppg), 5-7 junior G Megan Barlow (12.8) and 5-8 junior G/F Inekka Stevenson (11.0). Stevenson leads the team in rebounding (8.5 rpg), and is tied for the team lead in assists with eight.
