What does your job entail? I work with all customers from sales and advertising to orders — anything having to do with Valencia peanuts.

What is a typical day like for you? They are not really typical. I come in and listen to my voice mail, call customers, deal with complaints, and make sure orders go out on time. I don't really have a set schedule.

Why did you choose this job? I wanted something to do with agriculture. Peanuts were the main agricultural business in Portales at the time.

What type of training, if any, is needed for this job? Other than on-the-job training, having a background in agriculture is helpful.

What do you enjoy most about your job? Working with the people. You hear it all the time, but it is true. I work with a wide range of people all the way from the West Coast to the East Coast.
