Bingaman representative to visit Clovis

A representative from Sen. Jeff Bingaman’s Roswell office will be available in Clovis on Friday to help people with problems or concerns with federal government agencies, according to a news release.
“The office hours in Clovis will give area residents a chance to meet with a representative from my office to discuss problems they may face, whether it be collecting Social Security benefits or difficulties with the VA,” Bingaman said.
The representative will be available from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Clovis-Carver Public Library, 701 N. Main St.

Commodities won’t be delivered

Commodities from the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico won’t be distributed in Portales this month.
“We don’t have enough food on hand to do any commodities this month,” said La Dean Jameson, who does inventory invoicing for the food bank.
Jameson expects to bring commodities in December, however.
The Portales distribution sites are the Roosevelt Community Services Center, Golden Acres Retirement Apartments, Portales Estates, Portales Dream Center and the Memorial Building.
