Q. Describe what your job entails?
A. Helping people solve their insurance needs with auto, health, home and life while trying to give people the best value and service for their money.

Q. What is a typical day on the job like for you?
A. It’s everyday seven days a week 24 hours a day. I give free quotes and comparisons of current coverages to prospective clients. This includes a professional insurance review where I go through the client’s coverage and needs to help solve the insurance coverage problem. To solve the insurance problem is to find the best values in using the insurance dollars for the greatest coverage for the client.

Q. Why did you choose this job?
A. It’s a way of helping people, I was involved in an organization that had an insurance opening and I got the job. It’s a chance to work with people. It’s more than selling a product. Its meeting people’s needs. American National Insurance has been around 100-plus years and has headquarters in Galveston, Texas. It is a fortune 500 company and multi-line coverage driven.

Q. What type of training, if any, do you need for your job?
A. I have moderated classes for the Life Underwritten Training Council for insurance instruction. There is a requirement of 15 hours each year of ongoing education in health, home, auto, and life casualty, estate planning, and business insurance planning training which may lead to traveling to those classes held nationwide.

Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?
A. Meeting new people, something new every day. Everybody has similar needs but different solutions.
