Director: Roosevelt County chamber to aid Tres Amigas project

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Roosevelt County Community Development Corporation Director Greg Fisher said Friday he and others in the county would work with the New Mexico Renewable Energy Transmission Authority to support new connections to the expected Tres Amigas National Electrical Grid Superstation near Clovis.

Fisher also plans to support the proposed Santa Fe transmission line from the Curry/Roosevelt County line to Las Vegas, Nev.

Roosevelt County will be one of the most productive host locations for renewable energy near the superstation, Fisher said. He said he is waiting for more details and announcements of major new utility connections and rule changes that will allow transmission from Roosevelt County to the U.S. east and west electrical grids.
