Business feature: Auto parts store joins community

O’Reilly Auto Parts is a new addition to the Portales community.

O’Reilly opened April 10.

Store Manager Jack Maloney has been with O’Reilly for six months, but he has worked in automotive parts for more than five years.

The store has auto parts for any make or model.

They have a large selection of tools, but if they don't have it they can order it and get it overnight.

Maloney said customer service is their main goal.

“If it comes down to it and we see a customer having a problems, we’ll go out there and help,” Maloney said. “Its no big deal, (we’ll help with) a lot of stuff, such as, batteries and windshield wiper blades, we’ll put on them on for free.”

If a customer needs help from a mechanic they will recommend someone.

They offer any after market parts they have in stock or will order for a customer.

Maloney said he has many repeat customers.

“They want us to sell, but they want us to build relationships,” Maloney said. “And get people coming back in the door, not just people coming in once and that's it.”

O’Reilly owns 3,337 stores in 38 states. The business started 50 years ago in Missouri.
