Clovis police have interviewed a 17-year-old suspect they believe shot several rounds toward a busy fast-food restaurant on Wednesday afternoon, according to a police press release issued Thursday morning.

The juvenile, whose name has not been released because no charges have been filed, was interviewed by police Wednesday night and released to the custody of his parents, the release said.

No one was injured in the shooting.

According to the release:

• Police responded to a call of shots fired at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on north Prince Street just before 4 p.m.

• Witnesses told police a juvenile suspect fired several rounds at the south side of the building with a semi-automatic weapon and left the scene.

• There were people inside the restaurant, in the parking lot and in an adjacent business at the time of the shooting.

• A 17-year-old female said she was at the drive-thru window with another witness when her ex-boyfriend shot at her new boyfriend.

• Officers recovered two spent .22 caliber casings at the scene and documented two impact areas on the side of the building.

• The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
