Black Friday escapes:
Here’s an alternative to shopping when it comes to the day after Thanksgiving.
If you're in Albuquerque on Friday, a trip to the New Mexico Museum of Natural History.
The Planetarium is presenting "Journey to the Stars," featuring images from space four times each day.
The museum promises those who witness it, "may never see the night sky the same way again."
Located at 1801 Mountain Road, the museum is within walking distance of Old Town.

Yesterday’s future farmers:
From Clovis High School’s 1938 yearbook “The Plainsman:”
“The Clovis chapter of the FFA has had an enjoyable and profitable year under the leadership of our sponsor, Mr. L.C. Dalton. Some of the year’s outstanding activities were:
“The initiation of the Future Farmer Greenhands.
“The annual watermelon feed with the D.D. Girls as guests.
“The Clovis FFA booth won first place in the Bi-State Fair.
“Arvel Lee Black won third place in public speaking at the district meet in Portales.
“This year we started a chapter nursery and distributed trees and plants to the members.”
