Heck, Green strong at Snyder rodeo

The Eastern New Mexico University men’s rodeo team earned an eighth place finish April 3-5 at the Western Texas College rodeo at Snyder.
 Strong performances from ENMU seniors Cody Heck and Jared Green contributed to the eighth place finish.

Heck finished with a 20.9 average and placed first in steer wrestling. He was just two-tenths of a point ahead of runner-up Garrison Foreman of Vernon College. Green averaged 150 points and placed second in the bareback riding competition. He was six points behind first place Jared Smith of Rider College.

The ENMU Rodeo team’s next competition is going on today through Saturday at the Frank Phillips/West Texas A&M rodeo at Perryton.
