Last outing: The Greyhounds led wire-to-wire, jumping out to a 19-3 lead in the first eight minutes, and dominated previously unbeaten Lubbock Christian 69-54 on Tuesday night in Lubbock.
Notes: ENMU leads the all-time series with the Gunnison, Colo.-based Mountaineers of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference 23-8, although the teams have met just six times since 1970. The most recent contest was at the start of the 2006-07 season, when Mountaineers posted a 66-64 win at Greyhound Arena. … Western State suffered its first loss on Tuesday, an 89-62 decision to Division I Weber State at Ogden, Utah. The Mountaineers led 36-31 at halftime, but the Wildcats then took control with runs of 19-2, 7-0 and 12-1. … Western State has four players averaging in double figures so far — 6-1 sophomore G Weylan Towns (15.7 ppg), 6-7 junior C Dan Hobin (13.7), 6-8 senior F Don Biber (13.3) and 6-5 sophomore F Alex Hart (11.0). … ENMU, 1-0 at home so far, is starting a four-game homestand today. The Hounds welcome Texas-Permian Basin on Monday night, then begin Lone Star Conference crossover play with tilts against Southeastern Oklahoma on Thursday and East Central on Saturday.
