Roosevelt County eliminated from 10-11-year-old Little League tourney

The Roosevelt County 10-11-year-old Little League all-stars’ season came to a close Wednesday with a 5-2 loss to Carlsbad in Albuquerque.
Roosevelt County finished fourth in the double-elimination.
Joseph Ortega went 2-for-3 for Roosevelt County, including a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth inning that tied the game at 2.
Mario Cordova added two hits and an RBI for Roosevelt.
Carlsbad went ahead for good with three runs in the fifth inning off Portales starter Edgardo Chavez.
Darren Ontiveros pitched the sixth inning for Roosevelt County.
