Dec. 19, 1941: The Portales Daily News: Two more radiograms arrived from Roosevelt County men serving with the Army in the Philippines. One message was from Carl Stirman to Mrs. J.H. Bond, and the other from Vernon to Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Ginnings, assuring their families they were all right.
