BPA members earn state spots Congratulations to all the Business Professionals of America members who competed at regionals and qualified to advance to the state conference in February. Second semester begins Students return to classes today to begin the second semester of instruction. Report cards with first semester grades will be issued Wednesday.
Early release School will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Thursday with buses running at 12:35 p.m. Classes will resume Jan. 10. The school office will reopen Jan. 9.
Sports schedule • Today: Junior high basketball at Melrose, 4 p.m. • Thursday-Saturday: Varsity basketball tournament at Elida. • Monday: Junior high basketball at Elida, 4 p.m.; JV teams play Texico “C” team at Texico.
Yearbooks orders being taken Sponsor Karen Cone and the Dora yearbook staff are encouraging everyone to order the 2011-12 yearbook now, while the price is still $45. After Dec. 1, the price will increase to $55.
School held all week Dora students kindergarten through twelfth grade are attending school Monday through Friday this week. This is the only five-day week for students all year.
BPA dinner scheduled Colleen Tollett, sponsor, and the members of the Dora Chapter of Business Professionals of America, are holding their 21st annual enchilada dinner 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the cafeteria.
ASVAB testing scheduled The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery of tests will be administered to all Dora sophomores on Monday from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Testing will be done in the school library.

Academic testing ongoing Dora students in grades 3 through 12 will be participating in MAPS(Measures of Academic Progress) testing through Wednesday of this week. High school students will test 7:55 a.m. until 9:25 a.m., followed by a seven-period, slightly-abbreviated class schedule. Elementary students will be testing 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.
