Freedom New Mexico During their meeting 9 a.m. Tuesday, the Roosevelt County Commission is expected to vote on a notice of intent to adopt a franchise agreement with Southwestern Public Service Company. The agenda also includes a budget adjustment to allocate traffic grant money and a year-to-date report from Ricky Lovato, Road Department chief.
According to the Portales News-Tribune, the Golden Arches emblematic of McDonald’s restaurants would soon appear in Portales, reflecting a further expansion of the worldwide chain’s tri-state area franchise. Construction in Portales began in July and was to be completed early in 1979, according to Ron McVean, owner-operator of the McDonald’s franchise in the tri-state area. [...]
