Elida wins Class 1B volleyball crown

Elida beat district foe Grady 25-16, 25-15, 25-1 Saturday to capture the Class 1B state volleyball title at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho. It is Elida’s third state title, and first since 1990. Grady was making its first state volleyball title appearance. Portales plays Pojoaque at 4 p.m. for the 3A crown.

Wheatland schools reunion planned

Freedom New Mexico The Wheatland School Reunion is 8 a.m. May 29 in the Grady Senior Citizens Building. For lunch, participants are asked to bring a covered dish. Donations are to be taken to cover the rental of the building. Information: 806-333-4524.
