Aug. 20, 1945: Staff Sgt. A. B. Munsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Munsey, was on furlough in Portales. He had served 28 months as a platoon sergeant in the European theater.
The Portales Daily Tribune reported that Elbert Munsey was returning to the pharmacy field and joining the B & J Pharmacy staff after a short stint farming. Munsey then became the oldest pharmacist in Portales.
