According to the Portales News-Tribune, Rev. Clinton E. Vanzant, pastor of the First Assembly of God at Mansfield, Ohio, and son of Rev. Earl G. Vanzant of Portales Assembly of God, will be ministering to the local Assembly in both services Sunday.
The new pastor of First Baptist Church, Rev. W. E. Barnes, at a City Council meeting, spoke of his perception of Portales since moving here in early November. He mentioned, among other things, the well-kept homes, which “made Portales a place of happy and contented residents,” according to the Portales Tribune.
Portales Valley News reported that the new pastor of the Methodist church, Rev. R. F. Davis, would be preaching the following Sunday, his sermon entitled “Forward March.”
