The Portales Police Department is still classifying the death of a 48-year-old Portales man as suspicious. Ledbetter is new assessor

The Roosevelt County Commission has appointed Evelyn Ledbetter of Z-7 Farms Inc. as county assessor. Freedom New Mexico Members unanimously approved six policy updates during a special meeting Tuesday of the Eastern Plains Council of Government’s executive committee.
