Early voting available at Library

Early voting begins from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Portales Public Library and continues through Nov. 1. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday to Friday. Enter through the Roosevelt County Literacy Council door after library hours. Information: 356-8562.

Voter registration deadline nears

PNT staff Persons who wish to vote in the Nov. 4 general election must register by 5 p.m. Tuesday. Early in-person voting begins Tuesday at the Roosevelt County Clerk’s office. Absentee ballot applications may be obtained by calling 356-8562.

Voting machines to be tested

PNT staff Roosevelt County Clerk Janet Collins will be test voting the early vote, absentee vote and in-person voting machines at 9 a.m. Friday in the courthouse basement. Any interested person may observe.
